In today’s society, there are few emotions that we celebrate. In fact, showing our inner most feelings at all has become somewhat of a taboo. While we can’t honestly believe that any one person is happy 100% of the time, we consider displays of sadness to be a sign of weakness. Isn’t it interesting, then, that studies have suggested that those who cry more often are actually emotionally stronger than those who don’t.
1. There is Bravery in Tears
If asked, most people would say that they try not to let others see them cry, or that they are embarrassed at times when they lose control of their emotions in public. As it has already been stated, crying is noted by society as a sign of weakness. People who cry often acknowledge this fact, and still put their emotions on display. When a person cries publically, they are exposing an intimate part of themselves. People who do this often have a greater level of self-confidence than those who do not.
